The Orange County Fire Fighters Association, IAFF Local 2057, has endorsed John Mina for Orange County Sheriff.
The union represents more than 1,000 members.
The full text of the endorsement letter from the Orange County Fire Fighters Association, IAFF Local 2057:
“On behalf of the 1,050 members of the Orange County Fire Fighters Association, IAFF Local 2057, it is my pleasure to present to you this official letter of endorsement for your candidacy to be the next Orange County Sheriff. After much careful thought and consideration, our Board decided to endorse you based on your history of public service as the Orlando Police Chief and your strong relationship with the Fraternal Order of Police.
We applaud you in your decision to run for Orange County Sheriff, bringing your talents and experience to lead the fine men and women in the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Department which will enhance the level of professionalism and services already being provided to the citizens of Orange County. We know that F.O.P leadership has vetted all candidates carefully and intensely and we concur that they have made a great choice in supporting you.”
In addition to the endorsement from the firefighters, Mina has received the support of several Orange County mayors, including Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs and Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer. Mina has also been endorsed by five Central Florida sheriffs, NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal, the Greater Orlando Builders Association (PAC), the West Orange Political Alliance, the International Drive Resort Area Chamber of Commerce, the Orlando Regional Realtor Association, the Orlando Professional Firefighters Local 1365, the Central Florida Hotel and Lodging Association and the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge #93, Lodge #25 and District 7.
