The Orlando Professional Firefighters Local 1365 has endorsed John Mina for Orange County Sheriff.
The union represents more than 500 men and women in the ranks of firefighter, engineer, lieutenant and District Chief as well as the Emergency Communication Specialists.
From the Orlando Professional Fire Fighters I.A..F.F. Local 1365 endorsement letter:
“The Orlando Professional Firefighters Local 1365 have always taken great pride in their involvement with the political process as well as the endorsement of candidates who help serve in the best interest of Public Safety. As an experienced public servant with a clear vision for the needs of Firefighters and the citizens of Orlando alike, we look forward to working with you on various important issues you may encounter during your tenure as Sheriff.”
In addition to the endorsement from the firefighters, Mina has received the support of several Orange County mayors, including Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs and Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer. Mina has also been endorsed by five Central Florida sheriffs, NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal, the Greater Orlando Builders Association (PAC), the West Orange Political Alliance, the International Drive Resort Area Chamber of Commerce, the Orlando Regional Realtor Association, the Central Florida Hotel and Lodging Association and the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge #93, Lodge #25 and District 7.
